Kent State University Orchestra Society to Host 43rd Annual Evening With the Orchestra, April 14
The Kent State University Orchestra Society and the Hugh A. Glauser School of Music will present the 43rd annual Evening With the Orchestra on Saturday, April 14, in the Kent Student Center Ballroom. This annual fundraising gala produces thousands of dollars in scholarships every year for the orchestra’s student musicians.
A highlight of the evening will be the appearance of Carol Gould, winner for the second time of the conduct-the-orchestra auction, conducting Rossini’s popular “William Tell Overture.” The Leopold Sipe Award also will be given to an outstanding orchestra musician. The evening will continue with dancing, with music provided by the Kent State Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Bobby Selvaggio.
The cost of the event is $80 per person, including a $40 tax-deductible donation. Tickets may be purchased from Orchestra Society board members or from Larry Andrews, president, at 330-835-8074 or email@example.com.
The Orchestra Society was founded in 1973 by Ben Frost, Benjamin McGinnis, Rev. Lloyd O’Keefe and Sinfonia director Leopold Sipe. Unique as a community organization, its primary mission is to provide scholarship support for the Kent State University Orchestra.
