Main Street Kent 2016 Chocolate Walk Slated for Feb. 6

Main Street Kent is pleased to announce the 2016 Chocolate Walk, sponsored by the Kent State University Hotel and Conference Center. As a special addition to the event this year, all ticketholders will be entered into a drawing for the grand prize: an overnight stay at the Kent State University boutique-style hotel, complete with dinner for two at the Nineteen10 restaurant and a bottle of champagne! Chocolate Walk tickets are just $20 each, and are on sale now at Two hundred tickets are available for purchase, and this is a great opportunity to get out and explore the downtown district on a wintry Saturday afternoon. This is an all-weather event and tickets are nonrefundable. All chocolate treats are donated by participating businesses, and event proceeds will benefit Main Street Kent.

On Saturday, Feb. 6, from noon-4 p.m., the Chocolate Walk will take place in downtown Kent. Ticketholders will “check in” at the Destination Kent Visitor Center (located at 201 E. Erie St., across from the Kent State University Hotel) to pick up their Chocolate Walk maps, "passes," and bags to collect their chocolate treats. Then, at their leisure, event-goers will stop at each of the participating businesses to gather a chocolate surprise, while shopping and/or grabbing lunch/coffee/drinks along the way. At 4 p.m., the drawing will take place in the lobby of the Kent State University Hotel, where one lucky person will win the grand prize! (Ticketholder need not be present to win. See for full details).

Participating Chocolate Walk locations include Baked in the Village Café, Belleria Pizza & Italian Restaurant, Bent Tree Coffee Roasters, Carnaby Street Style, Dave's Cosmic Subs, Destination Kent Visitor Center/Main Street Kent, Downtown Gallery, The Dragonfly, Empire, FJKluth Art Gallery, Fresco Mexican Grill & Salsa Bar, Gracylane, Grazers, Kent Cheesemonger, Kent Cycle, Kent State Hotel and Conference Center, Kent Wells Sherman House (Shaklee Distributor), the Local Public House, McKay Bricker Framing & Black Squirrel Gifts, One Love Yoga & Boutique, Pita Pit, Popped!, Rise & Shine Café, Rush by Dino Palmieri, Scribbles Coffee, Secret Cellar, Standing Rock Jewelers, Taco Tonto's, Tree City Coffee and Pastry, Troy Grille, and Twisted Meltz.
