Women’s Leadership Symposium Takes Place March 30
The third annual Women’s Leadership Symposium: Framing History conference will take place on March 30 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Kent State University Library on the Kent Campus. The event will feature Judith Wellman, Ph.D., principal investigator at Historical New York Research Associates. Wellman will discuss her book Brooklyn’s Promised Land: The Free Black Community of Weeksville, New York. The conference also will include the play Harriet Tubman Sees a Therapist, and a conversation and celebration of 20 years of the Women’s Center at Kent State University. Additional sessions will address the histories of women and people of color.
The event is free to attend but registration is required. A buffet lunch will be provided to those who register by March 23. Registration is limited, so please register as soon as possible to secure your seat.
