April 10 Is Internship and Co-op Appreciation Day in Ohio

Did you know that more than 1,000 Kent State University students are enrolled in internship/practicum and or cooperative education courses each semester? Chances are you did and you might have even provided academic supervision to an intern or co-op student. For that, Kent State’s Career Exploration and Development thanks you and appreciates your support of student career development!

Help us celebrate Internship and Co-op Appreciation Day on April 10 by thanking our student interns/co-ops and their supervisors, too! Remember that internships and co-ops are a great way for our students to set themselves apart from others in the candidate pool. We also can help them create a competitive advantage by strengthening our Kent State relationship and acknowledging the great work being done outside the classroom. The data indicates that the advantages of these experiences are numerous: GPA goes up after participation, networking opportunities avail themselves, participants are exposed to various work environments and more – all while giving a competitive advantage in post-graduation employment searches. Internship and co-op experiences can truly alter a young person’s career trajectory.

Please join Career Exploration and Development in extending a sincere thank-you to all those students who are engaged in internships (past and present), as well as our appreciation to those supervisors who employ and mentor them.
