Department of Residence Services
I am responsible for safety and security for the Department of Residence Services by overseeing the Office of Safety and Security (recruit, hire, train and supervise security aides to help in building community in the residence halls while enforcing university and residence hall policies in the halls); train and indirectly supervise our residence hall directors and assistant residence hall directors on how to incorporate restorative justice practices into their conduct meetings with students; educate our student staff members on how to incorporate restorative justice practices into their interactions with residents and other staff members; act as liaison between my department and the Office of Student Conduct, the Department of Public Safety and Kent State’s Fire Prevention Office; supervision of some of the resident director and clerical coordinator staff; and perform a vast array of other duties as assigned.
