Check Out Kent State Move Communities and Campus Maps

Kent State University employees looking for easy ways to improve their fitness during the work day have a new tool. The Move Communities and Maps resource page is available for anyone looking for an accessible lunchtime route for biking, running or roller skating. The site also is intended to serve those seeking to join or add members to a walking group.

The page will help connect individuals and small groups of employees who meet regularly to enjoy some physical activity. This site provides a unique opportunity for the Kent State community to create and share their own “move” communities.

The page includes a printable map containing seven routes ranging from a quarter-mile course to a three-mile course, perfect for a before or after work jog or lunchtime stroll. Employees also can print a Kent campus map and outline a path to share with others. We also are adding Kent State Regional Campus communities and maps as we receive them. Check out Ashtabula’s “On the Move” group that meets each Friday and Stark’s walking maps and fitness class offerings for faculty and staff.

To submit group information or a favorite map for inclusion on this resource page, email wellness@kent.edu. Employees can take advantage of free Fridays at the Recreation and Wellness Center. A FLASHcard ID is required for admittance.

The Move Communities and Maps resource page was created by the Division of Human Resources to support the On the Move Challenge and the healthy campus initiative. For more information, contact Kim Hauge at 330-672-7505 or wellness@kent.edu.
