Dining Services Offers Delivery Through Tapingo

Food from Kent State University's Dining Services now can be delivered to customers on or off campus through Tapingo Delivery, a new feature added to the Tapingo app service.

Tapingo, which launched at Kent State in the fall, is an online and mobile food delivery service that allows students, faculty and staff to avoid lines by ordering ahead. Using the app on a mobile phone or computer, users can customize meals, pay via meal plan or credit card and choose a pickup time. This new phase, which began April 7, introduces the delivery service.

Rita Mugford, dining services marketing specialist, says the Tapingo app purposefully was introduced in a two-phase process.

“The initial phase of avoiding long lines by ordering, paying ahead and being provided a time to pick up has been very well received,” Mugford says. “The delivery phase enhances customer service, especially when Ohio weather strikes or when students, faculty and staff are entrenched in study and work.”

By incorporating Tapingo at all on-campus restaurants, including Rosie’s Diner and Quaker Steak and Lube, the service will help provide maximum convenience for everyone to access dining locations from across campus.

“We are hoping by implementing Tapingo Delivery, students, faculty and staff will allow us to bring to them the many healthy options found across campus,” Mugford says.

The service itself will be available on demand from morning until late night; hours of specific dining locations will vary depending on opening and closing times.
