WORKED AT KENT STATE SINCE:
EMPLOYMENT PRIOR TO KENT STATE UNIVERSITY:
Ohio Foot and Ankle Center, Akron/Canton, Ohio
LIKES MOST ABOUT KENT STATE UNIVERSITY:
The blue and gold! Both my high school and collegiate colors were blue and gold. Both campuses had a great deal of school spirit, and everyone supported the student-athletes on game days. Being at Kent State reminds me of that. I get the feeling of camaraderie among the students, and you can sense the “buzz” when you come here. I also really enjoy the small, college-town vibe from Kent. From a professional standpoint, I love the resources we have as faculty members. We are definitely placed in positions that allow us to grow within our fields, but also to develop as educators. I have a real sense of pride working for Kent State University.
ATTRACTION TO KENT STATE UNIVERSITY AS AN EMPLOYER:
I wanted to be part of a major university at some point in my career. Kent State has been a well-respected educational institution for many years now. When Kent State acquired the podiatry school, I thought it was one of the best things that could have happened for my profession at that time. We are in position, with Kent State and the health care environment of Northeast Ohio, to make this the best podiatry school in the country. In addition, Kent State is well-known as being a great university to work for. When the faculty position opened up at the College of Podiatric Medicine, I jumped on the opportunity.
B.S., Human Biology, Juniata College, Huntingdon, Pennsylvania; D.P.M., Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine, Independence, Ohio
I enjoy spending time with my son and watching him grow. We spend a good bit of time in the many Metroparks of Northeast Ohio. My fiancée is an elite gymnast and competes for the Republic of Armenia, so we do a good bit of traveling together for that. I played college football, so between the both of us we stay pretty active. I enjoy running, weightlifting and other cross training. In my down time, I like to read and work around the house, but I prefer playing video games, building and collecting firearms, and watching football.
