Chefs from Kent State University’s Dining Services will feature wonderful, healthy and tasty food options from dining locations across campus at this year's Taste of Kent State on Sept. 21 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Student Green on the Kent Campus. The rain location will be the second floor of the Kent Student Center. Students, employees and visitors can experience a variety of wholesome samples.

The Kent State of Wellness initiative aims to create a healthy campus that enhances the health and wellness of students, faculty and staff. In response to the mission, Dining Services will feature its healthy food options at the culinary tasting.

Participating dining locations include The Hub in the Kent Student Center, Starbucks, Kent Market 1 and 2, Rosie’s Diner and Late Night Delivery, Jazzman’s, Moyo Café, Eastway Café and Market, Prentice Café’s new gluten-free entrées, Munchies Market, Sushi with Gusto, Fork in the Road and Slice Pizza. Other participating vendors are PepsiCo, Sirna & Sons and Velvet Ice Cream. Storm Mountain will serve cold brew coffee representing Simon Café. There also will be samples of new, healthy vending machine snacks.

Held in conjunction with A Taste of Kent State is the Mindful Mile walk, which encourages participants to walk their way into a mindful lifestyle. All participants will receive a T-shirt, and the first 50 to register (onsite) will receive a Mindful reusable water bottle (bottles also will be available for purchase at all markets on campus). Everyone is welcome to join the fun. Participants will meet outside the Kent Student Center, and the walk will begin simultaneously with the Taste of Kent State event. Be sure to visit the Division of Human Resources’ wellness table and the hydration station to prepare for your walk.
