Kent State Announces New Tuition Guarantee Plan

The Kent State University Board of Trustees has approved the adoption of a Tuition Guarantee model that will begin with the start of the 2018-19 academic year.

The Tuition Guarantee plan provides eligible first-year freshman undergraduate and transfer students the certainty that their Ohio resident tuition rate (i.e., instructional and general fee), career services fee, and room and board charges will not increase during their applicable cohort. The plan delivers on the university’s goal of offering a predictable and stable pricing structure for students and their families.

Participation in the program is automatic for all first-year undergraduate students and eligible transfer students enrolling in a degree-seeking program at any Kent State campus for the first time on, or after, 2018 Fall Semester. Students who attended Kent State prior to the 2018 Fall Semester are considered returning students and not covered by the Tuition Guarantee.

Detailed information about the Tuition Guarantee can be found on the university’s tuition website.

Please contact Stina Olafsdottir, Ph.D., interim associate vice president for business and administration services, if you have additional questions about the Tuition Guarantee at kolafsdo@kent.edu.
