Know Your Numbers: Health Screenings Coming In August

Kent State University employees are invited to participate in the next annual health screening to be held on Aug. 2, 16 and 25, from 7:30-10:30 a.m. Be Well Solutions, Kent State’s wellness partner, will again offer the onsite health screenings to all full-time, benefits-eligible employees.

The August screenings will take place in Heer Hall, Room 107, on the Kent Campus. Additional screenings are scheduled for all campuses throughout the upcoming months and can be found on the wellness calendar and the Be Well portal.

You do not have to be covered by one of the university health plans in order to take advantage of this offer. In preparation for the health screening, participants must fast for 8-10 hours before their onsite screening. Please note that the blood draw is via a simple finger stick. Confidential results will be provided to the employee for the following:

  • Glucose
  • Total cholesterol, including HDL and LDL
  • Triglycerides
  • Blood pressure
  • Body mass index

Employees are invited to register and schedule their screening appointment through Be Well’s secure website at www.bewelldata.com. If you have not yet signed into the Be Well website, first-time instructions on completing the registration process are available on the Be Well partners website. All information regarding employee registration and screening results are strictly confidential.

As a reminder, and as an ongoing service to our benefits-eligible employees, Be Well Solutions will continue to provide free health coaching services. Unlimited health coaching is offered telephonically as well as face to face. To take advantage of this offer to work on your individual health goals, simply log in to Be Well at www.bewelldata.com and select worksite coaching or telephonic coaching. If you have questions or require assistance with registration or coaching, you also may contact Be Well directly at 1-888-935-7378.

If you have questions about employee wellness offerings, you may contact Kim Hauge, manager for university wellness and healthy campus promotions, at 330-672-7505 or email khauge@kent.edu

The Native American Heritage Month Planning Committee is welcoming university divisions, departments and student organizations to begin submitting their programming, activities and events to the University Events Calendar to be featured on the Native American Heritage Month Website.

Open Enrollment is from Oct. 16, through Nov. 3. Each year in the fall, benefits-eligible employees may select and make changes to their health coverage plans based on their needs and the needs of their family. Outside a qualifying life event, this will be the only window during which such changes may be made. Click to learn more, and to see how to access the Open Enrollment Portal.
