Know Your Numbers: Health Screenings Continue in November/December

Two additional health screening dates remain for 2016. Mark your calendar and schedule your screening for Friday, Nov. 4, or Thursday, Dec. 8, from 7:30-10:30 a.m. Be Well Solutions, Kent State's wellness partner, will conduct the on-site health screenings for full-time, benefits-eligible employees.

What You Need to Know

You do not have to be covered by one of the university health plans in order to take advantage of this offer. In preparation for the health screening, participants must fast for 8-10 hours before their on-site screening. Please note that the blood draw is via a simple finger stick. Confidential results will be provided to the employee for the following:

  • Glucose
  • Total cholesterol, including HDL and LDL
  • Triglycerides
  • Blood pressure
  • Body mass index

All employees who complete the personal health risk assessment and screening will receive raffle tickets to enter into various gift offerings of their choice. This also will allow you to receive wellness points toward your Tier One requirements for your first $150 wellness reward for 2017!  Scheduling your appointment and completing the online health risk assessment may all be completed at Be Well's secure website at portal.bewelldata.com

Note: If you have not yet signed into the Be Well website, first-time instructions on completing the registration process are available on the Be Well web page. If you have questions, you may reach Be Well Solutions directly at 1-888-935-7378.

At Kent State, we want to honor the celebration of our Native American and Indigenous culture by developing a calendar encompassing all the university events that are relevant to Native American Heritage Month. The Native American Heritage Month Planning Committee is welcoming university divisions, departments and student organizations to begin submitting their programming, activities and events to the University Events Calendar to be featured on the Native American Heritage Month Website.

Open Enrollment is from Oct. 16, through Nov. 3. Each year in the fall, benefits-eligible employees may select and make changes to their health coverage plans based on their needs and the needs of their family. Outside a qualifying life event, this will be the only window during which such changes may be made. Click to learn more, and to see how to access the Open Enrollment Portal.
