Lunch and Learn: Sadness vs. Depression

Everyone is sad from time to time, but depression is different. What is sadness, and when does this normal every day emotion spiral into a clinical diagnosis? This informative workshop will explore the difference between a day or two of sadness versus depression.

Join us on Tuesday, Oct. 25, from noon-1 p.m. in the Kent Student Center, Room 313, for a discussion about self-care and when medication or other treatment should be explored. We also will discuss just how common depression is and what you can do to support yourself or a loved one who is combating depression. The presenter is Matt Williams, M.A., PCC-S.

Registration is required. A light lunch will be provided.

Open Enrollment is Oct. 16 - Nov. 3. Each year in the fall, benefits-eligible employees may select and make changes to their health coverage plans based on their needs and the needs of their family. Outside a qualifying life event, this will be the only window during which such changes may be made. Note that all benefits-eligible employees are strongly encouraged to go through Open Enrollment as some benefits selections do not carry over without the employee's annual approval. Be on the lookout for your Open Enrollment postcard, which includes Open Enrollment Fair details.
