Webinar: Mental Health Matters: Depression, Anxiety and the Road to Recovery

We all have moments when we feel down or nervous. Often, these feelings are fleeting and pass within a short time. However, this is not always the case. On Thursday, Oct. 4, from 10-11 a.m., Kent State University faculty and staff are encouraged to attend our Mental Health Matters webinar, where we will focus on raising awareness about stress, anxiety and depression, demystifying the symptoms and treatments. We will provide information for you or a loved one on how to get help.

Some of the items we will discuss and learn more about include:

  • Tools available to recognize and understand the signs and symptoms of depression and anxiety.
  • Available treatments and lifestyle changes.
  • Resources for coping with depression and anxiety.
  • Ways to support someone struggling with a mental health concern.
  • Recovery.

Our presenter for this webinar will be Lisa Kirby, MFT, PC. Ms. Kirby is dually licensed as a marriage and family therapist and a professional counselor. She received her master’s degree from the University of Akron in marriage and family therapy/counseling. She is currently an account manager for IMPACT Solutions, Employee Assistance Program. Whether training or working with a client in a clinical setting, Ms. Kirby’s goal is to provide practical, solution-focused strategies for life’s issues that virtually anyone can apply with success.

Because mental health does matter, this webinar is ideal for all Kent State faculty and staff. For individuals participating in the Wellness Your Way incentive program, this session will count toward 10 Wellness Your Way points toward your 2018 Tier Two totals AND one hour toward your annual Beyond Compliance goal. Registration is required.
