Mission of the College
- The CAE is committed to engaging students and faculty in transformative educational experiences in, aeronautics, applied engineering, and engineering; in research and development in areas of interest to the college; and in the nurturing of leaders in sustainable approaches to address economic and quality of life issues.

Goals and Objectives of the College
- The primary objectives of the College are to:
- Create an academic environment which promotes the intellectual and professional development of students and faculty;
- Develop and maintain a commitment to scholarly activity in research, graduate education, and undergraduate education which is commensurate with the goals and mission of Kent State University;
- Provide programs for all students which meet the educational, scientific, and technological demands of the disciplines represented in the College;
- Offer courses in cognate academic disciplines and professional fields which provide the necessary base for the career goals of students and faculty; and,
- Provide the public with service commensurate with a University.
- Implicit in these objectives are the following:
- A responsibility as teachers, which includes but is not limited to, educating undergraduate and graduate students and providing continuing education while promoting and clarifying the role and philosophy of education;
- A commitment to research and scholarship, defined as creating and maintaining an intellectual environment, and the expansion and advancement of knowledge and understanding in the discipline;
- Service to the University and to the general public. This service unifies and clarifies the role of the University in the local community, in the State of Ohio, and in the nation, and is valued within the College and the University.
