Schedule an Advising Appointment
INCOMING FRESHMAN AND TRANSFER STUDENTS
If you are an incoming freshman student, you will be meeting with an academic advisor during your Destination Kent State (DKS) appointment. If you are an incoming transfer student, you will be meeting with an academic advisor during your Transfer Kent State (TKS) appointment. CURRENT KENT STATE STUDENTS
If you are a current fashion student or a current Kent State student interested in a fashion major, please use the Kent State Advising link below to schedule an appointment with our academic advisors. Academic advisors are available to assist students through in-person and remote advising appointments.
The below students are required to meet with an academic advisor before they register for fall or spring courses:
1. All fashion students with freshman academic standing (students who have less than 30 overall earned credit hours)
2. All pre-fashion design and merchandising majors
3. All fashion students on academic probation
Sophomore, junior and senior fashion students are NOT REQUIRED to meet with an academic advisor before scheduling their courses.
IMPORTANT: To schedule an appointment with an academic advisor in the School of Fashion, you need to select "College of the Arts Advising" as the group. Do not select "The Shannon Rodgers and Jerry Silverman School of Fashion Design and Merchandising."
Appointments are only scheduled two weeks in advance. New appointments are added to the appointment calendar each weekday. If you do not see any available appointments, please check back the next day.

PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS
Prospective students are unable to schedule an appointment with an academic advisor or our faculty. To accommodate our prospective students, the School of Fashion and the Kent State Undergraduate Admissions Office host a variety of events throughout the fall, spring, and summer semesters.

Walk-in appointments are temporarily discontinued until further notice.
Please email all immediate advising and registration questions or concerns to fdm-advisor@kent.edu. All of our academic advisors receive the emails sent to this address and it is the quickest way to have your questions or concerns answered.
