Caryn Pang has joined us as an adjunct instructor teaching Seminar in Fashion Merchandising. Caryn has a background in sales, merchandising and multi-store management, and is passionate about the ever-changing world of retail. Caryn is an innovative strategist skilled at analyzing retail businesses at the macro and micro level for digital and brick and mortar through her extensive experience with both Macy’s and The TJX Companies. Her professional values and strengths include leadership, strategic planning, sales generation, international business development, brand strategy, project management, financial modeling and analysis, collaboration, as well as presentation and negotiation skills.
Her curiosity and excitement about the global fashion management industry landed her in the classroom – both as a student and a teacher. Caryn is a Ph.D. student at Iowa State University studying apparel, merchandising and design, and has a Master of Professional Education, Global Fashion Management degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology. She also teaches at both The Fashion Institute of Technology and Laboratory Institute of Merchandising. Through teaching college students about the fundamentals of retail and fashion merchandising, she is bringing her passion for the retail world “full circle.”
