Having spent over 30 years as a designer and creative director in the fashion industry, David Leung has extensive experience in all phases of design, product development, merchandising, marketing and branding. Born in Hong Kong and educated in the United States, he has a global perspective that has grown through assignments in Milan, Paris and New York City. He has been a creative force behind such fashion houses as Versace, Sonia Bogner, Maska, Caractere, Joan & David, Magaschoni, Zoran and Natori.
Today, David shares his experience and fashion fervor with a new generation of talent from across the globe. He is a professional fashion portfolio coach. He also serves the industry as a mentor and critic and works as an adjunct instructor at Parsons School of Design, the Fashion Institute of Technology and Kent State University Fashion School. He is an editor-in-chief of “Asiatorialist”, an online fashion journal focused on Asian design and cultural exchange and founded “The Gate-NYC”, a boutique studio producing fashion shows and lifestyle presentations.
David obtained his M.A. in Visual Culture: Costume Studies at New York University, his A.A.S in Fashion Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology, and his B.S. in Fashion Design & Merchandising at the University of Hawaii.
