Originally from San Francisco, California, Melissa English Campbell is an internationally exhibiting artist focusing on textile art. She received her Bachelors of Science, in 1995, from University of California at Davis in Design with an emphasis in Textiles and Clothing.
Prior to moving to Ohio, Melissa worked in San Francisco at Ariat International as the assistant to the President. From San Francisco Melissa, and her husband J.R. Campbell, moved to Ohio where she first worked at Iowa State University in their Textiles and Clothing Department as their Textile Lab Technician and their annual Student Fashion Show Coordinator and then left to raise their children and start a small yoga wear company. Melissa, J.R. and their two children then moved to Glasgow, Scotland where Melissa became involved in art, craft and volunteer initiatives.
Shortly after moving to Kent, Ohio, Melissa began the graduate degree program in the School of Art at Kent State University. She received her MFA, with an emphasis in Textiles, in 2013.
Melissa’s work has been seen at local and international venues including the Innovations in Fiber Art VI in California, the Surface Design Association Fashion Show in San Antonio, the International Fashion Art Biennale in Seoul, South Korea, the Hedge Gallery in Cleveland and the Miniartextil in Como, Italy.
