Melissais an internationally exhibiting artist focusing on textile art. She has an MFA from Kent State School of Art, and a Bachelors of Science in Textiles and Clothing from University of California at Davis.
Melissa has been an instructor at the Kent State Fashion School since 2014, where she has taught Junior Studio Design, Fashion Visuals, Fashion Fabrics Labs, and Basics of Apparel construction.
Melissa also runs a small textile art and design studio.
Melissa’s work has been seen at local and international venues including the Innovations in Fiber Art VI in California, the Surface Design Association Fashion Show in San Antonio, the International Fashion Art Biennale in Seoul, South Korea, the Hedge Gallery in Cleveland and the Miniartextil in Como, Italy. Her fashion designs and fine art work are part of collections held both locally and internationally.
