Design Senior Opens Fabric Shop in Downtown Kent

Inside view of Kent Fabrics storefrontOn Monday, December 3, senior design student Symone Baskerville held the soft opening of her store, Kent Fabrics, in the popular shopping area of downtown Kent. Located at 175 E. Erie Street, her shop offers high-quality fabric within walking distance from the Fashion School.

Baskerville hopes to create a fun, collaborative environment where fashion students can stop by and get their supplies needed to finish their designs. Her vision for the future is to carry innovative fabrics such as vinyl, silks, special occasion garments and performance wear to name a few.

Kent Fabrics will be holding group sewing classes for fashion merchandising students starting January 7, 2019. Interested participants can complete the paid registration on the Kent Fabrics website.
