Kent Fashion School junior, Symone Baskerville, came in first place in the 2018 LaunchNET Idea Olympics last month, for her fabric store idea titled, “Kent Fabrics”.

Baskerville, a fashion design major, came up with the idea for “Kent Fabrics” after realizing there was a large need for alternative fabric options directly near campus. She currently plans to have the store located in downtown Kent and within walking distance of Rockwell Hall, providing students and the local Kent community with a convenient location to purchase designer-quality fabric for all of their project needs. She hopes to have the store up and running in late August to be ready for the start of the fall 2018 semester.

Baskerville is currently looking fellow fashion students to assist her in getting the store up and running. If you’re interested in helping or wish to receive more information about the store, please sign up to receive “Kent Fabrics” emails or visit the store’s GoFundMe page.
