Fashion Industry Studies Graduate Student Announced as Design Director for Express's 'UpWest' Brand
Kelsey Vitullo, a current graduate student in the Kent State University Fashion School’s Fashion Industry Studies program, was recently began her new role as the design director for UpWest – an online-only brand launched by Express, that features cozy sweaters, blankets, sleepwear and lifestyle and wellness projects.
The laid-back counterpart of Express, aims to appeal to the millennial market, and will be sold exclusively online to compete with the rising increase of e-commerce sales for Express.
Vitullo, who joined the first cohort of the Fashion Industry Studies program in Fall 2018, is excited to make her mark as the design director of this new brand while also continuing her education.
Said Vitullo, “I am really looking forward to bringing success to the brand and I am extremely eager to learn and complete my degree while bringing the industry and academia together. My goals of making the brand sustainable will couple nicely with my design research in the future.”
