Fashion School Hosts International Visitors
The Kent State University Fashion School hosted a visit from Global Ties in Akron and 18 international visitors from the Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program
The international guests traveled to the United States under the direction of the Department of State’s program to study entrepreneurship in the fashion industry. Throughout the program they are travelling to multiple fashion and design schools, museums, magazines and prominent fashion brands in the country and examining the history and evolution of the fashion industry in the U.S to enhance their understanding about small business development, marketing, branding and consumer trends and to network with retailers.
The group featured visitors from Egypt, Israel, Algeria, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia, Oman, the United Arab Emirates and Palestinian territories, many of which had never been to the U.S. before. The visitors toured the facilities in Rockwell Hall and Kent State University Museum, while also meeting with faculty and students and learning what makes the Kent State Fashion School one of the top fashion programs in the country and the world.
