Fashion, Style and Popular Culture from Japan
In today’s world, fashion and pop culture are inextricably linked. What is important in this connection is not just the actual clothing, but also the particular style in which it is worn. Visiting professor, Dr. Jin Nakamura is holding a lecture on Nov. 1 in the Kent State University Museum’s Murphy Auditorium from noon – 1 p.m. and will discuss the Japanese apparel industry. The lecture will examine the distinctive Japanese fashion cycle by illustrating how pop culture and fashion co-create each other.
