Free Mental Health Counseling for KSU Students, Employees, and Community Residents

Information provided on behalf of Dr Jason Miller,

Director of the Counseling Center at Kent State

Hello and welcome to (or back to) Kent State! I hope your semester is off to an exciting and productive start. As you know, the world is a bit different these days and that is no different for University life and even our own counseling center. That said, we are still able to offer free mental health counseling services to students, employees, and community residents at The Counseling Center at Kent State in EHHS. To schedule an appointment, simply call 330-672-2208 and we’ll get you set up!

All counseling provided by The Counseling Center at Kent State will be remote and provided through Microsoft Teams for the duration of the Fall 2020 semester. Upon scheduling your sessions, instructions for connecting via MS Teams will be provided to you and you may continue with counseling for as long as you like.

When Is Remote Counseling Available?

The Counseling Center at Kent State is open for remote counseling the following times for the Fall 2020 semester:

    • Mondays 9am-6pm
    • Tuesdays 9am-6pm
    • Wednesdays 9am-6pm
    • Thursdays 9am-6pm
    • Closed Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays

How Do I Get Scheduled for An Appointment?

Currently, the best way to start the scheduling process is to call The Counseling Center at 330-672-2208. Someone will be able to get you scheduled. If it is after hours, please leave a message and someone will return your call the next business day to get you scheduled.

Is There A Waitlist for Appointments?

Not Currently. Often in fall and spring semesters, our schedule will fill up by day 18 or 20 of the semester. We don’t yet know what the demand for remote counseling will be this semester since we have never had a remote semester in The Counseling Center. That stated, the earlier in the semester that you contact us, the better.

Is There Any Cost for Counseling?

No. All counseling is free-of-charge for as long as you like.

Do you have walk-in hours available?

Unfortunately, since our counselors are working remotely, we are not able to accommodate walk-in clients at this time.

If you are interested in scheduling an appointment with one of our counselors or if you have any questions at all, please call The Counseling Center at 330-672-2208.
