Students from the M.F.I.S. graduate program packing boxes for Notions for Nigeria DriveDuring the 2018 fall semester, Kent State Fashion School graduate studies coordinator and professor, Dr. Catherine Leslie, along with graduate students from the Master of Fashion Industry Studies (M.F.I.S.) program, held a donation drive titled “Notions for Nigeria” to gather sewing supplies to benefit fashion students in Nigeria.

Dr. Leslie and students teamed up with Dr. Anthonia O. Obeta from the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture in Nigeria, to provide Dr. Obeta's students with items ranging from books to sewing supplies to monetary contributions.

The donation drive, which ran from early November to mid-December, received many generous donations from students and faculty, resulting in two full boxes of donated supplies. The M.F.I.S. students packed and shipped the items and sent them to Dr. Obeta and her students at the beginning of the year.

The Notions for Nigeria team would like to thank all who donated to the cause.
