Kent State Fashion School/Dankook University Program
During the summer, fashion design and merchandising students earn 6 Kent State University credits while taking approved Fashion School courses at Dankook University in South Korea. The month-long program, held in July, also includes optional cultural activities, including: calligraphy, Korean traditional music, Korean traditional dance, making kimchi, Taekwondo, nonverbal musical, a tour of the DMZ, temple stay, mud festival, visit to a Korean company, folk village, and amusement park. Students may also complete internships in Seoul before taking courses at Dankook University.

The Kent State Fashion School/Dankook University Program offers fashion design and merchandising students the opportunity to study abroad while gaining international experience in Seoul, South Korea’s capital and one of the world’s most modern and technologically advanced cities. Additionally, this program offers a number of cultural immersion activities that will enrich your experience abroad and bolster your resume and overall learning. Furthermore, Seoul is one of the safest capital cities in Asia, with one of the lowest recorded crime rates and safety threats to foreign travelers and students.
The Kent State Fashion School/Dankook University Program provides 6 credits that can be applied to FDM electives or support core electives.

Students will be living in double-occupancy rooms in an on-campus dorm. All rooms are furnished with single beds, pillows, desks, chairs, wardrobes, telephone, Internet and a private bathroom. Laundry facilities, a cafeteria, a fitness center, a convenience store and reading rooms are also available in the dormitory. All housing fees are WAIVED for Kent State participants.
