Develop global competencies and gain insight into Korean culture when you participate in the School of Fashion's Dankook University Program!

During the summer, you can earn up to six Kent State University credits while taking approved School of Fashion courses at Dankook University in Seoul, South Korea. You will experience valuable cultural immersion through a range of activities, including calligraphy, Korean traditional music and dance lessons, and visits to Korean temples, businesses and folk villages.

  • A minimum 2.500 overall GPA.
  • Successful completion of all sophomore (20000-level) fashion design or fashion merchandising courses prior to participating.
  • Consult with your academic advisor to plan for your study away experience and ensure it corresponds with your academic goals and graduation plan.



You will enroll in Dankook University courses and will need to complete a Transfer Course Plan Form with your academic advisor to have Dankook courses applied to your fashion degree at Kent State.

You are required to enroll in six credits of FDM elective courses. 



You will live in double-occupancy rooms in an on-campus residence hall through Dankook University. All rooms are furnished with single beds, pillows, desks, chairs, wardrobes, a telephone, internet, and a private bathroom. Laundry facilities, a cafeteria, fitness center, convenience store, and reading rooms are also available in the residence hall.

Study Away Pre-Approval Application: The online application is available September 15 - December 15, 2020.

Commitment Contract: Eligible students will receive access to the online Commitment Contract in early January. Submit your contract as soon as possible. Students are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
