Kent State at Trumbull Teams up with State and County to Fight Opioid Addiction

According to the Ohio Department of Health statistics, Trumbull County had the second highest number of overdose deaths in Northeast Ohio in 2015. In March of 2016 alone, 26 people died from overdoses.

To help fight the growing trend and save lives, Kent State University at Trumbull is working with the county’s Mental Health and Recovery Board and Sen. Sean O’Brien’s office.

WKBN-TV reported on the partnership that includes a new 15-week class with Kent State’s University’s College of Communication and Information. The seminar class will take what communications students are learning and put it to use handling real-world problems.
