International Day of Peace
200 White Hall
Join us for the first of two International Day of Peace activities
- Thursday, , in Room 200 White Hall, features Dr. Patrick Coy, of the newly formed School of Kent State Peace and Conflict Studies, and Elaine Woloshyn, Executive Director of International Institute of Akron, along with her colleague, Jawid Ahmadzai, a refugee resettled from Afghanistan telling his story. All attendees will be given the Asian origami papers and instructions to make cranes, an international symbol of peace, to pass along to others to spread the message of World Peace starting here. The International Children’s Peace Statue, in Sante Fe, is often covered with paper cranes made by children all over the world.
- On , on Soccer Field #2 Loop Road, ONE DAY ONE GOAL: World Peace Soccer Game will follow. EHHS International Students and International Faculty and Soccer will play. Fun activities for the audience, with South African vuvuzela noisemakers, free pizza, and more will make this game a new tradition for EHHS. Bring your family, chairs, and blankets, and make it a family outing.
If you are bringing a class, please notify Linda Robertson at email@example.com, so we can plan appropriately.
