Emerging Glass is a new national juried exhibition organized in honor of the 50th anniversary of Kent State University's School of Art studio glass program. The exhibition, featuring sixteen glass artists, was juried by Davin Ebanks and Lisa Demagall out of 164 submissions from around the country. This exhibition is a part of the 50th anniversary celebration of the founding of the glass program at Kent State University's School of Art.
The show will be on view in the Payto Gallery at the Center for the Visual Arts at Kent State from September 4 through October 4, 2019. An opening reception will take place on Friday, September 6 from 5-7 p.m. Both the reception and the exhibition are free and open to the public.
Artists included in the exhibition are: Mark Abildgaard, Dara Alper, Brianna Barron, John Fansmith, Terri Grant, Dorie Guthrie, Lou Krueger, Emily Lamb, Emily Leach, Lorain Lynn, Paige Morris, Tate Newfield, Sebastian Shepherd, Blain Steiner, Amanda Takacs and JiEun Yoon.
