College Credit Plus

College Credit Plus at Kent State Geauga in Burton and the Regional Academic Center in Twinsburg

College Credit Plus (CCP) at Kent State is designed to provide qualified 7th - through 12th-grade students with the opportunity to enhance their education with a true college experience. Admitted students will have the opportunity to interact with other college students, faculty and staff, while experiencing the benefits of one of Kent State's regional campuses. Students accepted to the CCP program will typically select courses from Kent State’s Core Requirements.  Additional information regarding College Credit Plus can be found on the Ohio Department of Higher Education website.

Application Deadlines

October 1, 2017 for the Spring 2018 semester

April 1, 2018 for the Summer 2018 semester

May 1, 2018 for the Fall 2018 semester

Application Process

1. Submit a completed ‘Intent to Participate’ form to your guidance counselor by April 1st.  

Students of nonpublic, nonchartered and home-school students must complete and submit paperwork to the Ohio Department of Education declaring their intent to participate in CCP by April 1. The form and additional information is available at

Note: There is no application fee for CCP application. Keep your Username and PIN (you will need these to access the application system in the future).

3.  Print, complete and submit the Kent State CCP Permission Form.

4.  Request your school send official, up-to-date high school/middle school transcripts.

5. Send ACT or SAT scores to Kent State Geauga

Test scores for the ACT/SAT can be sent electronically to Kent Sate Geauga (ACT school code 3224 / SAT school code 6979).

Students who have not taken the ACT or SAT exam will need to take the Accuplacer assessment. Kent State will provide Accuplacer free of charge.

 6. Watch your postal mail and email for updates about your application status. Applications are considered incomplete until all of the above materials have been received.
