Biography

My research interests are in sedimentology and geomorphology, especially modern & ancient fluvial and lacustrine continental deposits, and taphonomy of vertebrate fossils within them. I have particular interests in

  • Eocene lake deposits in Utah
  • Development of the landscape and biota of Madagascar and human influence on the same
  • Interpretation of mid-late Paleozoic strata in NE Ohio
  • Computer programming to improve visualization and analysis of complex data sets (e.g., data regarding orientations, Munsell soil colors, and grain-size distributions).

Education

Ph.D. University of Michigan 1984, M.S. Ohio State University 1977, B.A. Albion College 1975
