Check our calendar often for announcements of everything from concerts to workshops and festivals to sightseeing trips, all with the power to broaden your understanding and appreciation of the world. All are supported by the Office of Global Education and our campus and community friends.


Planning an event?

The International Student Event Fund (ISEF) is now available to international student organizations with a membership majority of international students for use in conducting activities and event.

January
  • Friday, January 24: Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration. 4:00 p.m., KSC Ballroom. A celebration to honor the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. with keynote speaker Melissa Harris-Perry.
February
  • Monday - Friday, February 10 through February 14: I Heart Travel Week. More information here.
  • Wednesday, February 12: Cultural Café. 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., KSC Ballroom Balcony
  • Friday, February 21: Skiing & Snow Tubing. 6:00 p.m. - Midnight, Boston Mills Brandywine Ski Slopes. Cost: Tubing, $20. Skiing, $75.
  • Saturday, February 29: Cleveland Cavaliers Basketball Game. 5:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m. Private Arena Tour, Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse (Cleveland). Fee: $45 
March
  • Sunday, March 15: Monsters Hockey Game. Leave Kent 1:00 p.m. (Game 3:00 p.m.), Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse (Cleveland). Fee: $10
  • Wednesday, March 18: Cultural Café. 4-5:30 p.m., KSC Ballroom Balcony. Philippines & Georgia
  • Thursday, March 19: Sign & Dine. 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Office of Global Education Van Campen Hall. Come get your travel signature and enjoy some snacks!
  • March 23-29: Spring Break. No Classes.
April
  • Wednesday, April 15: Cultural Café. 4-5:30 p.m., KSC Ballroom Balcony. Panama & Deaf Culture.
  • Thursday, April 30: Sign & Dine. 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Office of Global Education Vancampen Hall. Come get your travel signature and enjoy some snacks!
May
  • May 1-4: 50th Commencement of May 4, 1970. Events will begin Friday afternoon (May 1) and continue through the end of the traditional noon commemoration on Mon, May 4 (no final exams or classes are scheduled).
  • Thursday, May 7: International Student Graduation Reception. 4:00 - 6:30 p.m., KSC Ballroom
