Calendar of Events

Whether you're an international or domestic student, faculty or staff, community member or just passing through, you'll find something of interest to you on the calendar below. Check our calendar often for announcements of everything from concerts to workshops and festivals to sightseeing trips, all with the power to broaden your understanding and appreciation of the world. All are supported by the Office of Global Education and our campus and community friends.

  • Friday, February 23: DJ Night Party. Room 206, Student Multicultural Center, Kent Student Center, 7:30 pm. The Kent Indian Association presents this fun-filled evening of music and dance. Free entry and everyone is welcome.
  • Wednesday, February 28: Cultural Cafe: Australia and Saudi Arabia. Kent Student Center Ballroom Balcony, 4:00 to 5:30. More event information.
  • Thursday, March 1: Holi Festival.

  • Saturday, March 3: Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Denver Nuggets. Join the Office of Global Education and your fellow Kent State students as we travel north to Downtown Cleveland and the Quicken Loans Arena to watch James LeBron and the Cleveland Cavaliers take on the Denver Nuggets in a star-studded NBA Basketball match-up.   • Monday, March 5: OPT Workshop. University Library, Room 018 (Lower Level). The workshop covers OPT eligibility requirements and the application process, Registration is requested.

  • Sunday, March 11: Daylight Savings Time begins. Turn your clocks forward one hour.

  • Thursday, March 15: Sign and Dine: Travel Signature Event. 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm, Van Campen Hall, Room 111. Get your travel signature while enjoying fun, refreshments, giveaways and prizes. It's a fast, fun way to get your travel signature. We'll see you there!

  • Wednesday, March 21: Cultural Cafe: Finland and India. Kent Student Center Ballroom Balcony, 4:00 to 5:30. More event information.

  • Monday, March 26 to Sunday, April 1: Spring Recess-- no classes.

  • Wednesday, March 28 to Sunday, March 31: New York City Spring Break Trip. Join your fellow international students for the trip of the year - spring break in New York City. The cost is $200 for students assessed the International Student Activity Fee ($540 for students not assessed the fee). More information.
