Dr. David L. Di Maria
Dr. David L. Di Maria joined the Office of Global Education in 2009. He directs education abroad, international recruitment, international admissions, intercultural programming and student/scholar immigration compliance across the Kent State system.
Dr. Di Maria is an active member of several professional associations including the American International Recruitment Council, the Association of International Education Administrators, NAFSA: Association of International Educators, and the Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research. Dr. Di Maria frequently presents on topics pertaining to international education and intercultural communication, and he is the author of several professional publications. Dr. Di Maria serves as workshop dean within NAFSA’s Training Coordination Subcommittee and he is a member of NAFSA’s national leadership team, coordinating outreach to eleven regions on issues pertaining to international enrollment management. Additionally, Dr. Di Maria is an external reviewer for the American International Recruitment Council and a qualified administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory.
Dr. Di Maria earned a tunnistus from the University of Tartu in Estonia, undergraduate and master’s degrees from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and a doctorate in educational policy and administration from the University of Minnesota. His doctoral studies focused on intercultural education, strategic internationalization and leading organizational change. His dissertation research examined factors affecting views of campus services for international students at public universities in Ohio.
