ENG Writing Beyond Borders: A Literary Conversation

Course Name: ENG Writing Beyond Borders: A Literary Conversation

Description: This course is intended for all students interested in exploring the rich tradition of writers who have sought travel and encounters across borders to gain insights into their own sense of home and belonging in the world. Joining ranks with John Keats, Lord Byron, Edith Wharton, and Henry James, we will take our inspiration from the deep literary conversations between Italian and English-speaking writers. As a travel writer the world will be both your oyster and your classroom. From Santa Croce to the Arno, sonnets to arias we'll experience Florence through the tips of our pencils. Create a personal travelogue that will fully capture your time in Italy and provide you with memories to last a lifetime. No previous creative writing experience is necessary.
