Course Name: POL 30560-995 Contemporary Issues in the Arab East

Course Description: This course will cover the major issues that have shaped and defined the contemporary Middle East in the 21st Century in general and the Arab East in particular. It will introduce students to the major historical, political and religious forces that have influenced the modern Middle East since the end of the First World War. The objective is to provide students with information and analysis so that they can better understand the events that are taking place in today’s Middle East.
