Florence Summer Institute Program Costs (One Session)

The cost for your participation in the Florence Summer Institute will include the following items. Please note these estimates represent costs associated with the summer 2022 program for one session (either June or July).

Charge Cost Notes
Estimated Airfare $1,700 Only applicable for students participating in the group flight.  Independent travelers will pay for their flight on their own.
Housing $900 Housing information.
Program Fee $800 Covers administrative fees, teaching materials, arrival transportation, activities, and orientation.
International Health Insurance $80  
Study Tour Academic Activity Fee (Fashion Only) $150 Site visits and field trips within Florence associated with the Fashion Study Tour Course. Only applicable to Fashion majors.
Tuition (6-7 credit hours) KSU Tuition Tuition rates will vary based on your tuition-guarantee cohort rate.  Please visit the Kent State Bursar's Office for the most up-to-date tuition rates for students who are not in a tuition guarantee and tuition rates for the tuition guarantee cohorts. Students are required to register for a minimum of 6 credit hours.
Estimated Total $3,480.00-3,630.00 + KSU Tution  

 

Florence Summer Institute Program Costs (Both Sessions)

The cost for your participation in the Florence Summer Institute will include the following items. Please note these estimates represent costs associated with the summer 2022 program for students staying for both sessions (June and July).

Charge Cost Notes
Estimated Airfare $1,700 Only applicable for students participating in the group flight.  Independent travelers will pay for their flight on their own.
Housing $2,100 Housing information.  Includes housing during the break between sessions.
Program Fee $1,600 Covers administrative fees, teaching materials, arrival transportation, activities, and orientation.
International Health Insurance $180  
Study Tour Academic Activity Fee (Fashion Only) $150 Site visits and field trips within Florence associated with the Fashion Study Tour Course. Only applicable to Fashion majors.
Tuition (12 credit hours) KSU Tuition Tuition rates will vary based on your tuition-guarantee cohort rate.  Please visit the Kent State Bursar's Office for the most up-to-date tuition rates for students who are not in a tuition guarantee and tuition rates for the tuition guarantee cohorts. Students are required to register for a minimum of 6 credit hours.
Estimated Total $5,580-$5,730 + KSU Tution

  • These estimated costs do not include food, text books, optional social activities, or other incidentals.
  • These estimates are not guaranteed for future semesters.
  • Most Kent State University scholarships and federal financial aid will apply.  For non-KSU students, contact your university's financial aid office.
  • Please remember to apply early if you are planning to use for financial aid or loans.
  • You will be billed by the Kent State University Bursar for the items listed above (excluding airfare if you fly independently).
