Prospective Scholar Information
The purpose of the J Exchange Visitor Program is to implement the Mutual Educational and Cultural Exchange Act (Fulbright-Hayes Act) of 1961, “to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries by means of educational and cultural exchanges.” If you are interested in working with Kent State University (KSU) faculty or staff as a visiting scholar, please complete this prospective scholar information form. You will need to make contact with the department with which you wish to work.
Before Completing This Form
- You must contact a faculty member in the department in which you wish to work. The faculty member must agree to host you before you complete this form.
- You need to have financial support documents that show that you can afford your expenses in the U.S. These documents must show support of at least $1,400 per month. If you are bringing a dependent, you must show an additional $450 for the first dependent and $250 for each additional dependent.
- You will need to submit PDF copies of passports for yourself and your dependents in the form.
Note: We begin created documents 4-6 months before your program start date. You will be contacted when your documents have been created. If you are unable to arrive before your program start date, please notify us to change your program dates.
