Overview

Pontificial Catholic University of Parana is a private, not-for-profit university in Curitiba, Brazil. Kent State students have the opportunity to study at PUCPR for an academic year or semester term while selecting courses from a listing of over 100 options from different schools such as communication, business, life sciences, education, architecture & design, among others. PUCPR not only offers courses in English but also offers Portuguese language & culture classes. Student are also able to select to participate in many cultural activities, one of which is the opportunity to visit the Iguazu National Park, home of the Iguazu Falls the largest waterfall in the world.


Location

Situated in Curitiba the capital city of the state of Parana in Brazil,  the PUCPR campus features many state-of-the-art facilities for teaching, learning, and entertainment, such as their Technological Park, where RD teams from more than 20 companies share a space for innoviation with PUCPR researchers. 

 

 

 


Academics

Courses are taught fully in English in a variety of subject areas. Student can choose courses from the Curitiba campus only. The courses include the following:

  • Gastronomy
  • Humanities
  • ...and more!

Students may also take Portuguese Language and Culture courses, designed to help incoming international students with little or no previous knowledge of the language. To maintain full-time status, students must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours while abroad.


Living in Curitiba

There is no on-campus housing available at PUCPR. However, a list of off-campus options that have been vetted by PUCPR will be provided. PUCPR will also guide students with regards to local leasing procedures and policies. The list of off-campus accomodations will be available to students as soon as they are admitted to PUCPR.

  • Any major
  • Minimum cumulative GPA: 2.5 or higher
