Career Advising for Graduate Students
UPDATE: In accordance to Kent State’s current policy, all career advising appointments will be conducted over the phone. Please enter your phone number in your reason for appointment at which the career advisor may contact you.
The Division of Graduate Studies, in collaboration with Career Exploration and Development, offers support in your career and major exploration as take your journey through graduate school. Whether you are looking for the right graduate program, an internship to gain hands-on experience, or your next career change, make an appointment today and meet with Kent State’s Graduate Student Career Liaison.
Topics for appointments may include, but are not limited to:
- Creating a résumé and curriculum vitae (CV) appropriate for industry or higher education positions.
- Exploring different career pathways in your field(s) of interest. Searching for internships, coops, full-time and part-time opportunities.
- Practicing and improving your interview skills.
How to make your career advising appointment:
- Click “Schedule Appointment,” then select “Career Exploration and Development” as the department, then “Lookup Available Appointments.”
- Click “Yes, I want to make an appointment with a career advisor,” then “Continue.”
- Click “Current student or alumni,” then “Continue.”
- Click “Graduate Students Career Liaison”, then “Continue.”
- Select that day and time that works best for your schedule, enter the reason for your appointment, then “Confirm Appointment.”
