COVID-19 UPDATE TO THE RA:

If you plan to apply for the Research Award and your research includes travel: Please be aware that the Research Award (and any other GSS award) is under the university-sponsored travel restrictions that has been implemented until further notice.  If you plan to apply for the Research Award, please know that we are unable to fund any travel expenses.  This includes air travel, gas reimbursement, hotel rooms, parking, tolls, rental cars, or similar expenses.

If your research has been altered slightly due to COVID-19: So long as you are registered for courses for thesis/dissertation hours as a part-time or full-time graduate student, we will be reviewing applications to alter your work slightly in order to continue use of this award.  If this applies to you, please fill out an amendment/extension form.  This is only for projects which are still similar to your initial proposal which was submitted with your application.  These will be reviewed by the GSS Executive Board (simply for the purpose of the current circumstances).  For projects that have changed substantially, you must reapply for the RA when feasible for your new project.

If your research project was canceled due to COVID-19: Please contact the Advocacy Chair directly so we can know that your funding is no longer needed.

The Graduate Student Senate Research Award is a competitive award that supports research or project-related expenses for Kent State University graduate students.
