Biography
My research focuses on the sixteenth century Spanish diplomat, poet, humanist, and historian, Diego Hurtado de Mendoza, and his role during a time of religious and political change in Spain and Italy. This research follows Mendoza from the newly-conquered Kingdom of Granada, to Venice, Trent, Rome, and back, while tracing his personal connections during this time through his letters and meetings.
I graduated with my BA in history from Tiffin University, where my research focused on interactions between the Latin West and Islam in the sixteenth century. At Kent, I am president of Phi Alpha Theta, managing editor of The Burr Magazine, graduate student senator, and treasurer of the Kent State LARP Club.
