History Department Introduces New Annual Event
On April 12th, the History Department hosted what it hopes will be an annual event -- a History Homecoming that will connect alumni, faculty, and current students.
This year's theme, "The Digital Rediscovery of the Nineteenth-Century United States," represented an attempt to introduce the Kent State History community to the emerging methodology of digital history. Two outside experts -- Professor Anne Sarah Rubin of the University of Maryland-Baltimore County and Assistant Professor Scott Nesbit from the University of Georgia -- joined our own Professor Elaine Frantz in sharing their cutting-edge research. Other events scheduled for the day included a conversation between Interim Chair Kevin Adams and alumni, as well as a reception that followed the panel. Keep an eye out for next spring's History Homecoming, which will revolve around the theme of "New Directions in the Study of the Vietnam War."
