The Honors College will launch Research Uncorked, a new series designed to bring together a broad range of Kent State researchers and the Kent community for focused public conversations, on Thursday, March 5, at 5:30 p.m. at the Secret Cellar.
The series will feature monthly discussions that will showcase many various research areas conducted by faculty at Kent State. Suzy D’Enbeau, Ph.D., assistant professor in the School of Communication Studies, will introduce the series.
D’Enbeau's topic is “Integrating work and family throughout the world: Exploring how young women meet the demands of today’s workforces and families.” D’Enbeau explores how what it means to be an ideal woman is socially constructed and influenced by religion, nation, and culture. She will discuss her award-winning research about the personal and professional goals of young women from the Middle East, North Africa, and India. D’Enbeau will also consider the surprising similarities in personal and professional desires of young women throughout the world.
This first presentation is co-sponsored by the School of Communication Studies and the Honors College. The complete schedule for the Research Uncorked Schedule will be made available on the Honors College website at kent.edu/honors.
The Secret Cellar is located at 176 E. Main St. in downtown Kent. Research Uncorked is open to the public.
