The Kent State University Honors College will host its next Research Uncorked event on Wednesday, October 26 at 5:30 p.m. at Water Street Tavern in downtown Kent.
"When the View from My Office was a Castle" will feature Candace Perkins Bowen, an associate professor in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication within the College of Communication & Information.
Bowen spent last fall at Anglo-American University in Prague for her sabbatical. She taught an opinion-writing class and gave guest lectures in newswriting and public relations classes, but she thinks she learned more than her students did. In her upcoming talk, Bowen will discuss how she tested and stretched her skills as a journalist with frequent posts and photos on her blog site to capture the history and magic of the City of 100 Spires.
Water Street Tavern is located at 132 South Water Street. This talk will be held in the lower level. Happy hour drink prices are available.
