Assistant Residence Hall Director Position Information

Thank you for your interest in the Assistant Residence Hall Director (ARHD) position at Kent State University! The Assistant Residence Hall Director position is a part-time (20 hours), live-in professional graduate assistantship that includes some weekend and event hours. The ARHD assists the Residence Hall Director (RHD) with enhancing student learning and academic success through the creation of a community environment that supports the overall development of students. An ARHD reports directly to their RHD, and indirectly to the Assistant Director for Residential Communities.

Generally, ARHDs are hired through the Higher Education Administration program at Kent State University. Qualified candidates are interviewed through GA Days in early March. If University Housing is unable to fill our vacancies via the Higher Education program or there are vacancies later in the spring/summer, we will consider candidates from other graduate programs at Kent State.
