Important Update Regarding Your F23 KSU Housing Contract - Date Sensitive

Hello FIRST NAME,

Kent State has good news and good news. The first good news is that everyone wants to be a Golden Flash!  So much so that housing is filling up rapidly for next year. Now, for more good news! Because you will be entering your second year of living on campus at KSU, you have the option to cancel your housing contract and pursue another housing arrangement.

If you so choose, we are offering to cancel your housing contract for the upcoming academic year and refund your $200 housing pre-payment so that you may explore off campus accommodations.

If you would like to pursue this option, please follow the steps outlined below:

1 – Visit https://www.kent.edu/housing/mandatory-housing-policy-exemption-forms. Under the “Financial/Extenuating Circumstances” section, select the option for the “Exemption Form Fall 2023/Spring 2024”. You will only need to print/submit the first three pages.

2 – Check the last checkbox on the 2nd page – "Can demonstrate other acceptable extenuating circumstances. Student is responsible for providing complete documentation to verify the situation for review…"

3 – Complete the personal application information on the 3rd page, and sign/date.

4 – Print this email and attach it as the required supporting documentation along with your three-page exemption application.

The deadline to notify University Housing that you wish to cancel your contract is Monday, April 3rd at 5:00PM.

The completed exemption form and copy of this email may be submitted to the University Housing Reception Desk located on the first floor of Korb Hall (open M-F, 8am-5pm). Should you have questions, please contact University Housing at 330-672-7000 or housing@kent.edu. We are here to help you every step of the way.

As always, Go Flashes!
