KIC Professional Development Dinner

The evening of November 27 was a special one for members of the Kent Interhall Council and our campus hall councils. Student representatives gathered in the Kent Student Center for the annual Professional Development Dinner – A Night of Inspiration, Motivation, and Recognition. This annual dinner, designed to encourage students to continue to seek ways to get involved and to encourage them to value leadership development, was attended by over 100 student leaders.

Along with numerous students being recognized for their leadership contributions this year, the highlight of the evening was the keynote address by Mr. John Fitzpatrick, KIC President during the 1990 – 1991 academic year. Mr. Fitzpatrick, an executive with the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, shared his memories and learning moments as a former KIC President and charged all in attendance to seek out and take on leadership opportunities in college. At the conclusion of his remarks, Mr. Fitzpatrick share a few memorable times during his time living in Verder and Leebrick Halls. All had a fun evening and we all look forward to continuing this event next year.
