Position Responsibilities

Assist the Residence Hall Director in—and/or provide primary responsibility for—training, supervising, and evaluating Resident Assistant staff. Assist and advise students in matters related to academic support, crisis intervention, referral, programming, discipline, conflicts, personal development, and leadership opportunities. Additionally, the ARHD advises the hall council, including matters of budget, policy, and programming.

In consultation and collaboration with the Residence Hall Director, the ARHD has the authority to act independently and in compliance with departmental and University policy and state law in the resolution of problems, concerns and goal accomplishments. The position assists the Residence Hall Director as a contact person for student staff members as well as residence hall students in a hall or cluster of halls housing 450 – 560 students.
