University Housing Update

Hello Eastway Residents!

We wanted to provide another update on the HVAC unit review in your area.

Eastway Update:
Staff are continuing to inspect each of the remaining rooms in Allyn, Clark, and Manchester. Since our last communication, no new concerns have been identified in these halls.

If your room has not been inspected yet, it will be!

The room checks will not be complete this week as we hoped. To ensure each room gets appropriate attention, UFM provided an updated completion by Tuesday, October 18th.

As before, when UFM arrives, they will knock three (3) times and verbally announce before they enter. Upon entering your room, UFM staff will do a visual inspection of the room, wipe down the louvers, and take any other corrective action necessary based on their review. When they complete the inspection, a notice will be left on your room door.

Important Tip for All Students on Campus:
Professional staff are noticing numerous instances of louvers (directional vent) on HVAC units blocked with room furniture, primarily a wardrobe. All rooms need appropriate airflow and movement and when louvers are blocked it can contribute to an environment conducive to growth. Please help us help you and look at how you’ve reconfigured your room furniture. If you’ve blocked the louver, please rearrange!
